Technology v. Fashion, Mind Controlled Dress
Technology v. Fashion. Why not a mind-controlled dress that rearranges itself? And it exist in did, fashion designer Nange Magro with passion for electronic garments and latex presented in her futuristic collection Mechapolypse a mind controlled reactive dress. More in specific, as Nange Magro explains, 'the project Mechapolypse is about a dress that lights up and changes shape depending on the level of brain concentration.'

“Communion”, a generative art piece
“Communion”, a generative piece created by Matt Pyke (Universal Everything) and Field.io – Marcus Wendt and Vera-Maria Glahn. Music was written by Simon Pyke and plays an integral part in the piece. The installation is in a rectangular room with 6 separate projection on the walls creating almost a 360º environment. The final piece includes an array or evolving creatures going through stages of development – evolution from simple to complex with human like properties with generative behaviours, deeply immersive and “a celebration of an audio visual synesthetic experience “ – Marcus. Matt describes the process as “instilling living characteristics to the dancing forms, from simple cellular structures through to multi-limbed creatures. Although abstract and unfamiliar, the beings feel alive and part of a community and they express the wonder of nature, the creation of something from nothing, a unique ecosystem “ . 3D models in a new design
Spanish industrial designer and art director Emilio Gomariz has what could be described as a wildly varied portfolio. His animated gif series entitled Extremity is of particular interest. The images are ‘tridimensional collages’ utilizing 3D models (bodies) which Gomariz found floating around the internet.

Larry Lessig on laws that choke creativity
Larry Lessig: Lawyer and activist argue for the Creative Commons supporting new Read AND Write culture where remixing = recreating is a part of creative process and should be not strangled by the outdated laws. Se video Laws that choke creativity .
Re-examining the remix is another of Lessing talks for TED, and gives a political background to his arguments.

"Maping Motion" at The Dundee Master Show
The long silence on the blogg has an explanation in my intensive work during the summer and the preparations for the finale show for "Maping Motion" at The Dundee Master Show from Media Arts & Imaging (University of Dundee).
From the July until the beginning of August 2009 I cooperate during the project with two visual artists: Joanna Stacewicz aka Deftoo and Marco Donnarumma aka S.A.D. This collaboration was essential for my work since the finale application is constructed in Pure Data. Marcos programming skills made it possible to further develop Pure Data patch I started during the Pure Data workshop in Dundee with help from Jamie Allen from Culture Lab. During second part of August I work on photo gallery for the documentation of actions and interactions during the MSC Show Exhibition as an continuously expanding photo gallery combined with a database system.
To accomplish that I get help from Blazej Pindelski programmer, graduate student from Computer Since program at the University of Abertay Dundee.
The finale output: "Shadow Dance" and "Many Frames" are up and running during MSc Show at Visual Research Center/ DCA (Dundee Contemporary Arts)
Dundee UK. Visible From 12-19 September.
"Shadow Dance" – site-specific installation, based on audiences interaction with motion captured corporal movements projected on the screen, build in open source programming language Pure Data and presented as a compiled movement on one frame In web based gallery.
"Many Frames" – is production based on real-time webcam-captured movement presented with a time delay in many different frames at the same time. It is an ongoing investigation on movement’s patterns as well as it is a visual exploration over aesthetic values of singular movement....

Synchronous Objects
Synchronous Objects, is a project explaining choreographic structures of William Forsythe through visual communication techniques and a set of data visualization tools for capturing, analysing and presenting. That according to Forsythe self, to make dance accessible and understandably for broad public. The project is a visionary collaboration with The Ohio State University
“The project relied not only on ACCAD and the Department of Dance, which are long term collaborators, but also on experts in architecture, geography, visual communications, computer science and engineering, and statistics”
It is a historic breakthrough bringing development of dance and choreography in to the new areas of technology. Follow Forsythe symposium: Choreographic Objects as live video streaming.

Sound made from plants

In Motion med Korsakow
